It's Memorial Day and here at America's Finest Blog, its time to thank those who have serviced and the families of those who have lost. Funny I don't really remember Memorial Day as a big deal or patriotic holiday prior to 9/11. That could be because I just wasn't playing attention. I know there were parades and services at cemeteries and the like, but it really didn't push into everyday life. Maybe it's because we have been at war, since 9/11 or maybe it is some grand conspiracy to create a society that demands a more militaristic nation or maybe it is that after 9/11 we all realized just how great this nation is and that we need to remember everyday those who sacrificed so much to give us our nation. I'd like to think it is the later.Dusty Moments, America's Finest Blog, is dedicated to photography and the American way of life. With each old snap shot or Kodachrome slide, a bit of the psyche of the person behind the camera is revealed, while simultaneously creating mysteries as to the true nature of the subject's story. The words within this blog are my own. Many of the photographs are mine too, but included also are the dusty moments from my parents and grandparents, as well as, junk store finds.
