On this date back in 1954, Roy Bergo set sail for Alaska in a bathtub. Not that it was absurd enough that he set sail in a bathtub, he did so in late October. One almost can assume that Roy was a bit crazy. But really Roy was just living his dream and since he was unemployed, he had little better to do. Sadly Roy made it as far as Whidbey Island before the motor on his bathtub gave out. So tonight a landlocked bathtub.Dusty Moments, America's Finest Blog, is dedicated to photography and the American way of life. With each old snap shot or Kodachrome slide, a bit of the psyche of the person behind the camera is revealed, while simultaneously creating mysteries as to the true nature of the subject's story. The words within this blog are my own. Many of the photographs are mine too, but included also are the dusty moments from my parents and grandparents, as well as, junk store finds.

12 Miles in Bathtub

Oh, the tower climber. Funny, I don't remember the clothes line at all. I do remember the bar that Dominic pushed Kelly into thereby causing our mothers to consider him unstable and dangerous and disallowing us to play with him for at least a month. After that, he must no longer have been dangerous.
