From left to right: Hermie, Ida Mae (grandma), Reg, Walt, Dorothea, Caroline, Marion, Elizabeth, Thelma, William, Ella Mae and Herman.

I believe only Caroline is still alive.

These photos are of Jim Wilhite and Frank Stanek. I'm not sure exactly how they fit into the puzzle, distant relatives or family friends. But it's odd to look at these photos and consider their youth and therefore the youth of my grandparents. I guessing these where taken in the late 1940's or very early 50's. I do know that the Stanek's lived in the Vancouver, WA area.

Snoqualmie Railroad

Hey,

First apologizes for yet another photo by Dan. I promise I'll get back to more interesting stuff next time. Anyway, if you have ever driven through Snoqualmie you have undoubtedly seen the old rail cars and locomotives of the Northwest Railway Museum. Today's photos are from some private property just to the south of the tracks, that's right I was trespassing. These photos are from 1994, I have no idea what is back there today.

The Great Flood of '96

These photos are from the Ellensburg flood (Feb 1, 1996). I remember this as a real fun day. Although walking around in water sometimes up to my thighs made it a bit chilly, even if it was 50 degrees that day.

This photo is probably of my Uncle Jim watching Elk graze.

Today I have two photos, the first is of Uncle Jim eating berries and the second is Ellensburg, circa late 1930's early 1940's. The Ellensburg photo appears to have been taken from Craig's Hill looking northwest toward Barge Hall. I believe that's my Grandma in the photo.

Magic Lantern Slides

So I found these magic lantern slides at an antique store over the weekend. Magic Lantern's where developed by the Chinese around the 2nd century A.D., it is the forerunner to the modern slide projector or viewmaster.
