Dusty Moments, America's Finest Blog, is dedicated to photography and the American way of life. With each old snap shot or Kodachrome slide, a bit of the psyche of the person behind the camera is revealed, while simultaneously creating mysteries as to the true nature of the subject's story. The words within this blog are my own. Many of the photographs are mine too, but included also are the dusty moments from my parents and grandparents, as well as, junk store finds.

April Fools
Happy 102nd birthday to City Light, created from the Department of Light and Water back on April 1, 1910. City Light was created largely because the public were not fools and feared monopoly control of elecric services. Private utilities didn't much like City Light, especially when it started building dams on the Skagit River, as that meant they would further lose out on the Seattle electric market. City Light also was responsible for the town of Cedar Falls and Rattlesnake Lake. Both the townsite and the lake are very important to those of us living in the upper Snoqualmie Valley.
