Sundown at Carkeek Park

Carkeek Park is in Seattle's Broadview neighborhood, north of Ballard and west of Northgate. These photos were taken by my dad, in 1967 or 1968. I can remember going to Carkeek Park as a little kid, and going down the slide there. And I can remember crossing the railroad tracks to get to the beach. Oddly, I don't think I remember the beach itself.
Enjoy
Dan

I remember the beach well - damp, lots of mud to suck off your tennis shoes. I also remember being mortally terrified of the bridge over the tracks because it was metal mesh and see through. I was convinced I would fall through those two inch holes.
