It's Memorial Day and here at America's Finest Blog, its time to thank those who have serviced and the families of those who have lost. Funny I don't really remember Memorial Day as a big deal or patriotic holiday prior to 9/11. That could be because I just wasn't playing attention. I know there were parades and services at cemeteries and the like, but it really didn't push into everyday life. Maybe it's because we have been at war, since 9/11 or maybe it is some grand conspiracy to create a society that demands a more militaristic nation or maybe it is that after 9/11 we all realized just how great this nation is and that we need to remember everyday those who sacrificed so much to give us our nation.
